收起People today live a longer life in a modern world equipped with better public services and technology. However, problems also raise with the increasing life expectancy. The aging population may affect both individuals and society in several aspects. An increased number of retired people leads to a smaller working population. Young adults have to look after their elderly relatives, which puts them under great pressure since they cannot spend time with the elderly and make sufficient money at the same time. Moreover, the demand for health care will also rise with the growing group of senior people. There are some possible solutions to help governments and people to tackle these problems. To lighten adults’ overdue responsibility, governments should encourage people to have more children to take care of their relatives together in the future. Governments should also encourage immigration in order to increase the number of younger adults. As for the senior, they may have to retire late to help reduce the pressure on younger generation. Medical services and health programs should continue to advance in order to ensure elderly people stay healthy and work for longer. In conclusion, longer life expectancy is a challenge for both working people and the government. Governments and citizens need to take actions to address these problems to maintain a good living standard for different ages.
In the developed world, average life expectancy is increasing. What problems will this cause for individuals and society? Suggest some measures that could be taken to reduce the impact of aging populations.
